What do you want to be when you grow up ?
In previous post, I shared one of my mentor whose advice helped me in making my dream come true. With this post, I am sharing another mentor who used to taught us Mathematics along with philosophy of Life. We used to call him Babaji in friend-circle, But always have respect for what He has taught still with us and that cannot be replaceable.
A Man who was a great Mathematician of international reputation, but humble and liked teaching young curious minds like us. He was our professor. Professor are really different. It was my Honor to learn from him. Everyday we had 4-6 lectures , but I always wait for his lectures. From his busy schedule, he used to take three lectures a week. Those lectures were lessons for life. He not only Advised us but also taught the mathematics no one else has done.
While teaching vector algebra, he explained the guiding mathematics of life. He advised to look where the things are heading and what it will yield. He taught us that time and Tide waits for none and we are here to play a special role. He taught us the dimensions and space. Like mathematics life has dimensions one has to search where to participate. While teaching the vector mechanics, he taught us and strictly advised that don’t be fooled by outer shine, go out and search for the truth by yourself. Don’t be a dot and stuck, come out and be a ray whose one end is known and other keep expanding. He taught us the geometry also. Life is all about symmetry advised us. Look for the patterns and designs, We all are a missing part of some’s puzzle or be a puzzle that no one solves. He advised is to be bold to disagree strongly and walk out. Never accept someone’s else false for yourself. He was the only professor who advised us that choose the field you love. Be a scientist if you like Science be an Artist if you like arts, pursue MBA if you like commerce but do what your heart says. I was always motivated by science and mathematics. He taught me that we have one life to do the job. Choose wisely. During the class of numerical analysis and research ops, he taught us the reality of numbers and significant difference. I always had a conversation whenever I had time. He used to ask us the best possible solutions. And advised me that better be a solution than to create problems. He was a man who we can talk about anything in life. He advised us to be ourselves. In a world full of energetic influencers, he was one who dared us to be ourselves. For a scientific mind to grow, this freedom is of absolute need.
So this post is dedicated to the person who taught us to be ourselves and advised that Be the original one. What’s better advise from a teacher !
